What does electronics RFQ software need that generic tools don't?

Part numbers as structured data. An MPN typed into a free-text field can't be matched, compared, or checked for compliance. Gloyd's catalog treats MPNs, manufacturers, and cross-references as fields — so RFQ lines, quotes, and orders stay connected to the actual part, not a string.

Can I quote against a customer BOM?

Yes — and the quote itself is built in the standard flow. Import the BOM from Excel/CSV with column mapping, and Gloyd reconciles rows against your catalog and shows structure and risk — single-source lines flagged. BOM import and health analysis are included on the Business plan and up; sourcing for the parts runs through the same RFQ flow.

Is live distributor pricing and stock data included?

Not yet — and our pages say so. Live distributor data is on the public roadmap, sequenced after the ERP and e-invoice integrations. What ships today: your own catalog, BOM import & health, compliance fields, and the full RFQ-to-order flow.

Does it track RoHS and REACH compliance?

Compliance lives on the record. RoHS, REACH, and related fields sit on the parts in your catalog, so the status lives on the part your RFQs, quotes, and orders reference — not in a separate spreadsheet.

Is this only for the buying side?

No. The same records run both directions: send RFQs to component suppliers, and receive RFQs from your customers through your branded portal — an EMS answering OEM requests quotes in the same system it buys with. Portal users are unlimited and free on every plan.

Does it replace our ERP or PLM?

No — Gloyd is the front step to your ERP, not a rival. It runs the fast-moving trade flow — RFQs, quotes, orders, the BOM next to sourcing — while your ERP stays the system of record. ERP integrations are first on the public roadmap; today you move data with CSV/Excel.
